Pig Nasty Cuino
PREMIERED IN 2020
PIG NASTY CUINO is a long-duration performance that integrates exhibition, dinner, and performative action. Over the course of two hours, the space is transformed into an immersive experience that includes a presentation of objects, sculptures, and paintings created by Fina Ferrara, accompanied by a guided exhibition of a comic and ironic tone, led by the artist herself under the title Tutte Bo Dan le Cochon.
The work incorporates an abundant dinner, with pork as a central element of the menu, and collaborations with invited artists such as José Luis Cendejas (painter and poet), Raúl Quintanilla (filmmaker), and Daniel Pérez Ríos (visual and sound artist). The evening culminates in a performance of bodily expression, where Ferrara embodies and confronts the behaviors observed throughout the night.
Beyond its apparent lightness, the work functions as a critical satire on greed, excessive consumption, and the ease with which human beings act in contradiction to their own values. PIG NASTY CUINO questions how, in the obsessive pursuit of accumulation and profit, we become alienated from others and from our environment, normalizing practices that generate social and ecological harm. Through acidic humor and deliberate excess, the performance exposes mechanisms of power and wealth that prioritize growth without awareness, leaving behind devastated territories, broken bonds, and a profound human disconnection.
